As an educator, Martin has tirelessly coached and guided countless numbers of students of all ages. Helping students reach their goals, whether it is the young elementary student win the school talent contest, or the high school/college senior being accepted into one of the worlds elite music conservatories, has been the biggest reward for Martin.
Knowing that every student is unique and possesses different skills and talents, Martin is able to tailor his teaching method in such a way as to bring out the most of each student. A strong and disciplined work ethic combined with a nurturing and supportive teaching environment has produced success in Martin's studio. Martin has had students accepted as flute majors to the Colburn Conservatory, Thornton School of Music at USC, UCLA, Manhattan School of Music, and the University of North Texas, among others. He has had multiple winners in the Young Musicians Foundation Scholarship auditions, prize winners in the Music Center's Spotlight program, and countless prize winners in the SYMF Music Festival, among many others.
Knowing that all students are not destined to a professional career in music, Martin realizes success can be defined on many levels. To inspire, support, and nurture each student to become the best he/she can be, to give an appreciation for music, to give oneself a greater self confidence and increased self esteem; these are the real success stories Martin is proud of.
In addition to being on the faculty at La Sierra University, Martin has an active home teaching studio in Los Angeles. He also teaches online via Zoom and Skype. For more information regarding in-person or online lessons, please visit his Contact page.
